Scots Songs

Siegfreid Sassoon

Born on the 8th September 1886, Siegfried Sassoon was an English war poet, writer, and soldier. His poetry both describes the horrors of the trenches and satirized the patriotic pretensions of those who, in Sassoon's view, were responsible for the war.

Wonder

Choral setting of Siegfried Sassoon's poem 'Wonderment'.

This piece was performed by singers in the Scottish Chamber Orchestra Young Singers.

It captures a moment of reflection on time, and an appreciation for friends and family.
